Description

3-Hydroxy-1-Adamantane Acetic Acid is a nontoxic disinfectant that has been shown to be effective against bacteria, fungi, viruses, and algae. It is an inorganic compound with a crystal structure similar to melamine. 3-Hydroxy-1-Adamantane Acetic acid is used as a thin film on polypropylene for use in ejecting CDs or DVDs. In the presence of hydrogen peroxide, it can also be used as a disinfectant by diffusing through plastic films. This chemical has been characterized using single-crystal x-ray diffraction and x-ray crystallography and found to have strong hydrogen bonding interactions. 3-Hydroxy-1-Adamantane Acetic acid's chemical formula is C3H6O3.
