4-Hydrazino-2,6-dimethylpyrimidine is a chemical compound with the molecular formula CHN. It is a white crystalline solid that can be obtained by reacting hydrogen sulphide with hydrazine. The reactivity of 4-hydrazino-2,6-dimethylpyrimidine varies depending on its state: in the form of a sulphide it reacts with chlorine to produce difluoride, while in the form of an amine it reacts with permanganate to produce sulphonamides. This compound is used in organic synthesis as a building block for other compounds and has been used as a reagent for oxidizing alcohols and amines.
