Description:
7-Hydroxy-4'-nitroisoflavone is a flavonoid that has been shown to have nitric oxide (NO) scavenging activity and inhibitory effects on the activities of enzymes. 7-Hydroxy-4'-nitroisoflavone has also been shown to decrease lipid peroxidation and increase catalase activity in animals, as well as inhibit the formation of reactive oxygen species. The enzyme specific inhibition of 7-hydroxy-4'-nitroisoflavone was confirmed by its effect on peroxidases and catalase. The compound is currently being used for clinical diagnostics for solanum tuberosum, with a detection limit of 0.1 ppm.
