Product Information
- 4-n-Hexadecylaniline
4-Hexadecylaniline is a fatty acid that has been found to inhibit the growth of Candida glabrata. It was first purified from a culture of C. glabrata by constant pressure and then identified by monoclonal antibody. 4-Hexadecylaniline also inhibits the growth of other yeasts, such as Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Candida krusei, and Candida tropicalis. 4-Hexadecylaniline is able to inhibit the growth of Candida glabrata by binding to the surface antigens on its cell wall and causing an increase in membrane permeability. This results in the release of phospholipases, which causes hydrolysis of phospholipids and leads to cell death.
4-Hexadecylaniline has been shown to have an inhibitory effect against some bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococ
