4-Hydroxybenzylchloride is a reactive chemical that has been used in the synthesis of methides, hydroxyl groups, and chlorides. It can be obtained by the reaction of benzaldehyde with hydrogen chloride using a reaction vessel. 4-Hydroxybenzylchloride is used as a dye cation for serine protease and nitro for asymmetric synthesis. The tumor cell line has been shown to be sensitive to 4-Hydroxybenzylchloride as an inhibitor of tumor cell growth. This compound also inhibits toll-like receptor signaling pathways in Mycobacterium tuberculosis and causes bifunctional inhibition of both protein kinase C and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/Akt signaling pathways in human erythrocytes.
