Description:
5-Hydroxy-6-iodonicotinic acid is an alkaline chemical with a high degree of reactivity. It reacts with ethyl ester and nitrates to form the corresponding 5-hydroxy-6-iodonitroso compounds. The compound can also be used to deactivate electrophilic reactions, such as sulfonation and hydroxypyridine deactivation. It is not active against sulfonation or hydroxypyridine deactivation.
