5-Hydroxy-2H-1,4-benzoxazin-3(4H)-one is a pharmacologically active compound that has been shown to inhibit dopamine and acetylcholine release in vivo. The inhibition of these neurotransmitters is due to the interaction with the d2 receptor and carboxylic acid group, respectively. This compound also interacts with the formyl receptor and piperazine congener, which may contribute to its pharmacological properties. 5-Hydroxy-2H-1,4-benzoxazin-3(4H)-one is structurally related to other drugs such as amphetamine, methamphetamine, and fenfluramine.
