Description:

1-Hydroxycyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid is a five-membered ring compound that has been shown to be an optical isomer of cyclopropane-1,1-dicarboxylic acid. The synthesis of 1-hydroxycyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid was achieved by the reaction of acetone with chloroacetyl chloride in the presence of sodium methoxide in methanol and resulted in the formation of six stereoisomers. The E and Z isomers are known to be active as receptor ligands. The sample preparation for 1-hydroxypentane-1,5-dicarboxylic acid was carried out by dissolving it in dichloromethane. This compound can be used as potential drugs for treatment of fatty acids oxidation or metabolism disorders.
