Description:

1,4-Hexadiene is a reactive compound that can react with a hydroxyl group to form an ether. It is a polymerization initiator and can be used as a homogeneous catalyst. 1,4-Hexadiene is present in the form of two isomers: cis and trans. The cis isomer has functional groups on opposite sides of the double bond, whereas the trans isomer has functional groups on the same side. This product can be used as a cocatalyst for zirconium dichloride to produce polyurethane resins. Reaction mechanisms for this product are transfer reactions with zirconium dichloride, which results in reaction products such as 2-chloroethyl vinyl ethers and chloroethyl vinyl ethers. This product also inhibits protein synthesis by binding to ribosomes through hydrogen bonding with amino acids without changing their conformation or charge state.
