Description:
H-Cys-Lys-OH is a hypervalent reagent that has been used in the synthesis of glycosides, disaccharides, and oligosaccharides. It can be used to detoxify lipopolysaccharide (LPS) by removing the hydroxyl groups from the outer core. H-Cys-Lys-OH is also able to bind to cytokines and antigens, which are found on the surface of bacteria. This compound has been shown to be thermodynamically stable in water at pH 7.5, but hydrolyzes at pH 4.5 due to its affinity for water.
