Product Information
- 3-Hydroxycyclobutane-1-carbonitrile
- 3-Cyanocyclobutanol
- Cyclobutanecarbonitrile, 3-hydroxy-
- 3-Hydroxy-cyclobutanecarbonitrile
3-Hydroxycyclobutanecarbonitrile is an analogue of sibutramine. It is synthesized from 3-hydroxycyclobutanecarboxylic acid and Grignard reagent. This compound has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of human CYP2D6 and therefore may have the ability to interact with other drugs that are substrates for this enzyme. 3-Hydroxycyclobutanecarbonitrile is also metabolized by demethylation, hydroxylation, and glucuronidation.
