Hafnium isopropoxide isopropanol adduct (HIPA) is a novel, inorganic material that can be used as an electrode material. It has been shown to have a high capacity for potassium ion adsorption and exhibits electrochemical properties similar to those of commercialized materials. HIPA electrodes have been used in optical studies and microscopy studies of the release of potassium ions from the polymer matrix. This material has also been shown to exhibit good electrochemical stability in different conditions, including hydrochloric acid, which is commonly used in the manufacturing process.
