Description

Hesperetin triacetate is a flavanone and flavonoid that has been shown to be beneficial for brain cells. Hesperetin triacetate is also magnetic, which can be used as a marker for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The affinity of hesperitin triacetate for the iron in hemoglobin allows it to cross the blood-brain barrier. Hesperetin triacetate has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects on chronic inflammation, as well as bronchodilatory effects. This compound has also been shown to have antioxidant properties, due to its affinity for nitrates. It can be used in treatments of muscle injury and may help with atherosclerosis by reducing the amount of angiotensin II in the bloodstream. Hesperetin triacetate is water soluble and can be dissolved in organic solvents such as ethanol or methanol.
