Description

N-Hydroxy amobarbital is a synthetic chemical that can be used as a metabolic precursor. It is excreted in the urine, and its radioactivity can be detected by ionization mass spectrometry. N-Hydroxy amobarbital is structurally similar to barbiturates, which are also used for their sedative properties. However, unlike other barbiturates, N-hydroxy amobarbital does not have addictive potential. As it has been shown that this compound regulates genetic activity, it could be useful for the treatment of deficiencies in which protein synthesis is impaired due to genetic control.
