2-Hydroxymethyl-4-benzylmorpholine is a potent tyrosine kinase inhibitor that binds to a specific site in the ATP binding pocket of the enzyme. It inhibits the tyrosine kinase activity, which is essential for cell proliferation. This compound has been shown to have inhibitory activities on epha2 and other receptor tyrosine kinases. 2-Hydroxymethyl-4-benzylmorpholine also has a strong inhibitory effect on hepatocellular carcinoma cells, which may be due to its ability to induce apoptosis by inhibiting the development of cancer cells.
