7-Hydroxy-4-(trifluoromethyl)coumarin is a coumarin derivative that has been found to have protonated forms. The protonated form of 7-hydroxy-4-(trifluoromethyl)coumarin has been detected in rat liver microsomes. This compound was also found to be metabolized by human cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4), but not by CYP2C9 and CYP2D6. The protonated form of 7-hydroxymethyl-4-(trifluoromethyl)coumarin can be detected in human liver tissue, and the basic protein may play a role in its stability. A monoclonal antibody against the hydroxyl group of this compound can be used for detection. The presence of the hydroxyl group on 7-hydroxy-4-(trifluor
