Description:
(S)-3-Hydroxypyrrolidine HCl is a drug that binds to the tropomyosin receptor and inhibits its function. It has been shown to inhibit the reaction of ATP with tropomyosin in a kinetic assay. This inhibition prevents the ATP from binding to active sites on actin, which is an important step in muscle contraction. (S)-3-Hydroxypyrrolidine HCl is also able to inhibit bladder contractions by interacting with the bladder smooth muscle cells' tropomyosin receptor, which ultimately leads to relaxation of the bladder muscles. The drug has also been shown to have a lipase inhibitory activity, and can be used as an inhibitor for other enzymes such as chemoenzymatic or lipase.
