Description:

8-Hydroxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline is a quinoline derivative with amination reaction properties. It is used as a ligand in nmr spectra and optical studies. 8-Hydroxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline is also used to study the acrosome reaction in vitro by inducing the release of acrosomal enzymes from spermatozoa. The product is hydrated and can be prepared as a diethyl ester or hydrogenated form. Reaction time depends on conditions such as pH and temperature. Divalent cations are required for the reaction to take place.
