Description:
(R)-3-Hydroxy-2-pyrrolidinone is a reagent that is used to synthesize peptides with amino acid side chains on the alpha carbon. It can be used in solid phase synthesis of peptides with a C-terminal amide or acyl group. This reagent cleaves peptides at the N-terminus and C-terminus, removing the protecting groups and activating the carboxylic acid for esterification.
