Description:
D-Homophenylalanine is an active analogue of l-phenylalanine that can be used to investigate the effect of a chiral amino acid on enzyme inhibition. It has low potency and is used in assays to determine the inhibition constant of enzymes. D-Homophenylalanine is an inhibitor of many enzymes, including esterases, proteases, and lipases. This drug also has anticoagulant properties and inhibits the synthesis of 2-amino-3-hydroxybutyric acid (2-AHBA).
