Description:

L-Homophenylalanine hydrochloride is a product of the reaction between L-homophenylalanine and hydrochloric acid. It is soluble in water, but insoluble in nonpolar solvents such as benzene, toluene, hexane, and ether. This product is used in organic synthesis as an intermediate for other products. It has been shown to be effective at inhibiting the production of connective tissue when added to a biocatalytic system containing immobilized esterase and lipase enzymes.
