Product Information
- N- Iodoacetyltyramine
Beta-(4-Hydroxyphenyl)ethyl iodoacetamide is a crosslinking agent that reacts with sulfhydryl groups of proteins and other macromolecules. It has been used to label bovine serum albumin, human serum albumin, and human hemoglobin. Beta-(4-Hydroxyphenyl)ethyl iodoacetamide can be detected by the use of alkylation techniques such as gas chromatography/mass spectroscopy (GC/MS). This compound is an example of a heterobifunctional reagent because it contains two reactive sites: one for crosslinking and one for labeling.
