Product Information
Heppso hydrate is a natural polysaccharide that is produced by the fungus Heppia sp. It can be used as a reagent for assays, as well as for the measurement of hydrolases and proteases. The enzyme assay method can be done by immunoassay or colorimetric methods, and it is suitable for use with E. coli, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Bacillus subtilis, and other bacterial strains. The buffer solution should contain phosphate ion at pH 7.4 in order to maintain the enzyme activity after long-term storage. A protease enzyme such as Alcalase or Savinase may be used to hydrolyze proteins into peptides or amino acids during the assay procedure.
