2-Hydroxy-3-iodo-5-nitropyridine (2HINA) is a diiodoacetic acid derivative that acts as an acetylcholine receptor agonist. 2HINA has been shown to stimulate nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in rat brain tissue. This drug has a high affinity for the acetylcholine receptor and can be used to study the profile and affinity of drugs that act on this receptor. The predictive model was optimized by using inorganic compounds, such as iodoacetic acid, chloroform, and trifluoroacetic acid. 2HINA is also an electron acceptor, which enables it to be used in spectrometry with a scanning electron microscope. Regression analysis showed that 2HINA is most likely found in inorganic compounds such as chlorine and electrons.
