Description

Hydroxy(tosyloxy)iodobenzene is a tosylate that inhibits the activity of the receptor. It has been shown to have inhibitory properties in expression plasmids, which leads to an inhibition of autoimmune diseases. This agent also has a hydrogen-bonding ability that can be used for synthetic purposes. For example, it can be used as a precursor for coumarin derivatives and trifluoromethanesulfonic acid. Hydroxy(tosyloxy)iodobenzene is synthesized by an asymmetric synthesis with sodium carbonate and trifluoromethanesulfonic acid, yielding the product as a racemic mixture.
