Description:
(2S)-N-[(1S)-1-(Hydroxydiphenylmethyl)-3-methylbutyl]-2-pyrrolidinecarboxamide is an asymmetric organocatalytic method for the synthesis of aldehydes. The first step in this process involves the activation of an aldehyde by reaction with an alkali metal hydroxide, followed by oxidation to form the corresponding carboxylic acid.
