(+)-3-Hydroxy-2,2-dimethylcyclohexanone is an enantiomer of the racemic mixture (+)-3-hydroxy-2,2-dimethylcyclohexanone. It has a strong antibacterial activity against fungi, but not against bacteria. The synthesis of (+)-3-hydroxy-2,2-dimethylcyclohexanone involves the use of a Wacker oxidation followed by a Claisen rearrangement.
