Description:
HO-PEG11-OH is a diagnostic agent that can be used to detect tumor cells in the body. It is a fluorescent dye that absorbs light and emits fluorescence when bound to certain proteins. The uptake of HO-PEG11-OH by cancer cells has been shown in tumor xenografts, which are animal models with transplanted human cancer cells. This dye can also be used to measure the activity of growth factors and other biological molecules in cell culture, as well as to identify chemical species in pharmacokinetic studies. In addition, HO-PEG11-OH binds to epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptors on the membrane surface of cells and can be used for receptor binding assays.
