Heteroclitin D is a sesquiterpene lactone from the plant Fructus heterocliti. It is an inhibitor of ATP-sensitive K+ channels and has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth in vitro. It also inhibits L-type calcium currents and causes a reduction in the number of cancer cells, suggesting a potential use as an anticancer agent.
