Product Information
2-(hex-1-yn-1-yl)benzaldehyde is an isoquinoline derivative that has been isolated from the leaves of Eucalyptus globulus. It is a product with high yields and efficient isolation, which can be used to synthesize isoquinoline derivatives. 2-(hex-1-yn-1-yl)benzaldehyde has been shown to react with carbene to form a cyclopropane ring in a highly selective manner. It also reacts with chloroform at refluxing conditions to form β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds. 2-(hex-1-yn-1-yl)benzaldehyde can be used as an intermediate in the synthesis of prenylated phenanthrene derivatives from ββ unsaturated carboxylic acids.
