Description:
Hexadecyltrimethylammonium Perchlorate is a polycarboxylic acid that is used as an antibacterial agent. It inhibits the growth of bacteria by disrupting the permeability of bacterial membranes and inhibiting the synthesis of proteins. The compound is used in liquid crystal compositions, which are non-polymeric, and has been shown to be effective against gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae. Hexadecyltrimethylammonium Perchlorate has also been found to have antifungal activity against Candida albicans.
