Product Information

Name:
H-β-HoLys(Boc)-OH
Description:

Verticillium albo-atrum is a fungus that causes Verticillium wilt of grapevines. It has been shown to have a strong growth rate and is highly virulent. The fungus causes the plant's vascular system to become clogged with thick, white mycelia, which leads to wilting and death. H-beta-HoLys(Boc)-OH is an inhibitor of the enzyme p-hydroxybenzoic acid hydroxylase, which converts p-hydroxybenzoic acid into benzoic acid. This compound inhibits the growth of Verticillium albo-atrum by disrupting its ability to synthesize cell wall components such as chitin and mannoproteins. H-beta-HoLys(Boc)-OH also inhibits glutamic acid decarboxylase, an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of glutamate into alpha ketoglutarate. This inhibition reduces production of ammonia and other
