Product Information
- CFC-316lbc~1,1,3,4-Tetrachlorohexafluorobutane
- 1,1,3,4-Tetrachloro-1,2,2,3,4,4-Hexafluorobutane
Hexafluoro-1,1,3,4-tetrachlorobutane is a molecule that consists of four fluorinated carbon atoms and one chlorine atom. The molecule was synthesized by coupling three molecules of tetrachloroethane in the presence of trimethylaluminium. Hexafluoro-1,1,3,4-tetrachlorobutane has been used to study telomerization reactions and the separation of mixtures. Experiments have shown that hexafluoro-1,1,3,4-tetrachlorobutane can be used as a structural probe to study the evolution of erythrocytes. The most common isomer is (CFCl)3CClF with a molecular weight of 300 g/mol. Other isomers are (CFCl)2CClF and (CFCl)2CCl2 with molecular weights of 150 g/mol and 90 g/mol respectively
