Description:

2-Hydroxy-3-(trifluoromethyl)quinoxalin is a formyl, chiral, diphosphine ligand that is used as an oxidant and a trifluoromethylating reagent. It is also used as a catalyst in research. In the presence of hydrogen and sodium trifluoromethanesulfonate, 2-hydroxy-3-(trifluoromethyl)quinoxalin reacts with ketones to produce quinoxalines. The 2-hydroxy-3-(trifluoromethyl)quinoxalin can be reduced to give the corresponding hydroxylamine derivative.
