Description:

4,4,5,5,6,6,6-Heptafluoro-1-(2-thienyl)-1,3-hexanedione (HFTD) is a coordination compound that can be used in devices. It has been shown to interact with the ligand 4-carboxyphenylpyridine (CPP). HFTD can be synthesized by reacting europium chloride with 2-thiopheneboronic acid. The crystal x-ray diffraction pattern of HFTD shows that it is a monoclinic crystal with unit cell dimensions of a = 8.937 Å, b = 12.895 Å and c = 15.738 Å. HFTD has also been shown to exhibit luminescent properties when it is evaporated onto fabricating materials such as polyester or paper.
