1,1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8-Heptadecafluorodecane is a perfluorinated chemical used in the production of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). It is a clear liquid with a boiling point of 118 °C and has been shown to be an effective plasma glucose lowering agent in population studies. It has also been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells by preventing fatty acid synthesis. 1HFDA has also been shown to have eicosanoid-like effects on the regulation of blood pressure and inflammation.
