1,3,3,4,4,5,5-Heptafluoro-2-(trifluoromethyl)cyclopentene is an imino compound that is synthesized by the reaction of cyanohydrin with epoxide. The molecule has a nucleophilic character and can be used for the synthesis of epoxides and cyclic alcohols. This compound reacts with halides to form perfluorinated products. 1,3,3,4,4,5,5-Heptafluoro-2-(trifluoromethyl)cyclopentene reacts with hexafluoroacetone in the presence of a base to produce an enamine product.
