Description

1,1,1,2,3,3,3-Heptafluoropropane (HFC-227ea) is a hydrofluoroalkane used for the production of propionate. It has been shown to be a long-term effective agent in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory diseases. HFC-227ea is a potent inhibitor of bacterial growth and has been shown to be effective against Propionibacterium acnes and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This compound also inhibits the production of steroid drugs in process optimization. The fluorine atoms in HFC-227ea have a high kinetic energy that can lead to drug reactions such as hemolysis or kidney damage.
