Product Information
2-(5,5-Dimethylmorpholin-2-yl)acetic acid (DPA) is a compound that inhibits the activity of the enzyme gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) transaminase. It is used in the treatment of depression and other psychiatric disorders. DPA blocks GABA's ability to inhibit the central nervous system, which may be responsible for its antidepressant effects. DPA has also been shown to have an inhibitory effect on locomotor activity in rats, which may be due to its ability to bind to adenosine receptors in the brain. Chronic treatment with DPA has been shown to reduce dopaminergic neurotransmission in rats.
