4-Isothiocyanato-2-(trifluoromethyl)benzonitrile is a steroidal compound that is used as a cytotoxic agent in cancer treatment. It has been shown to be effective against cancer cells in vivo and in vitro. 4-Isothiocyanato-2-(trifluoromethyl)benzonitrile is metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes and interacts with DNA, RNA, and proteins. Impurities found in this drug are due to the use of dimethylformamide during synthesis.
