4-Iodobiphenyl is a boronic acid that can be used in the Suzuki coupling reaction. It is an analog of biphenyl and diphenyl ether, with spacing that allows for aryl boronic acids to bind to it. 4-Iodobiphenyl has been shown to inhibit protein synthesis in the cytosol of erythrocytes and leukocytes.
