1-Isopropyl-1H-indole-3-carbaldehyde (IIC) is a cytotoxic compound that belongs to the group of indole derivatives. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells by binding to the DNA strands, preventing transcription and replication. IIC also inhibits protein synthesis and cell division. The antiproliferative activity of IIC has been demonstrated in a variety of cell lines, including human leukemia cells and human breast cancer cells.
