Description:
1-Isocyanato-3,5-dimethoxybenzene is an organic compound that belongs to the group of methyl ethers. It can be synthesized by the reaction of carbonation with aluminium. 1-Isocyanato-3,5-dimethoxybenzene forms a homologous series with long chain aliphatic compounds and homologous series with orsellinic acid. It has been used as a catalyst for the demethylation of chlorides. The product of this reaction is 1-chloro-2,4,5-trimethoxyphenol, which can be used for the synthesis of other chemicals.
