Description:
1-Isocyanato-4-isopropylbenzene is a chemical compound that has potent anticancer activity. It was originally isolated from the bark of the mangrove tree, Rhizophora mangle. 1-Isocyanato-4-isopropylbenzene inhibits the enzyme butyrylcholinesterase and may be used as an experimental treatment for Alzheimer's disease. This compound also has potent inhibitory activity against monolayer cultures of neuronal cells in vitro.
