Description

Sorafenib is a ligand that binds to the anion-binding site of the enzyme, 4-chlorobenzonitrile. This binding prevents the formation of hydrogen bonds with the enzyme's active site. Sorafenib also has been shown to bind to human cancer cells and inhibit their growth in vitro, as well as other non-cancerous cells. Sorafenib may be able to inhibit cancer cell proliferation by interfering with lipid metabolism. In addition, sorafenib has been shown to lead to dyslipidemia in animal models and humans.
