It has been shown to inhibit the replication of various viruses, in particular HIV. 1H-Indazol-7-amine dihydrochloride is synthesized by alkylation of an imine with a nucleophile and it forms hydrogen bonds with other molecules. 1H-Indazol-7-amine dihydrochloride also inhibits the activity of NS3 protease, an enzyme that plays a key role in viral life cycles.
