Product Information
- 4-Isobutoxy-3-methoxy-benzoic acid
- Benzoic Acid, 3-Methoxy-4-(2-Methylpropoxy)-
4-Isobutoxy-3-methoxybenzoic acid (IBMBA) is a section that can be activated by chemical ionization, hydrogen chloride, hydrochloric acid, photooxidation, and reaction products. It is a colorless liquid with a boiling point of about 174°C. IBMBA has been used as a catalyst in the production of polyurethane foam. IBMBA may react with aluminium to form the product Al(IBMBA)2. IBMBA can also react with hydrogen fluoride to form hydrofluoric acid and 4-isopropoxybenzoic acid (IPABA). This compound has been used in kinetic studies to determine the rate of reactions between protonated water molecules and chloride ions.
