3-(1H-Indol-3-yl)propanohydrazide is a multifunctional compound that has inhibitory activities against lipoxygenase, an enzyme involved in the oxidative metabolism of arachidonic acid. It also has antioxidant properties and can protect cells from oxidative injury by inhibiting lipid peroxidation. 3-(1H-Indol-3-yl)propanohydrazide is able to reduce reactive oxygen species and may be used as a therapeutic agent for Alzheimer's disease or other diseases involving inflammation, oxygen species, or reactive oxygen species. This drug has been shown to have antioxidant properties and can protect cells from oxidative injury by inhibiting lipid peroxidation.
