3-Iodo-4-methoxyphenyl)amine hydrochloride (3IMA) is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that has been shown to be selective for Src family kinases. 3IMA inhibits the growth of cancer cells in cell-based assays, and has been shown to have advances in selectivity profile. The compound selectively binds to the ATP binding site on targeted enzymes and prevents protein phosphorylation. It is not yet known how 3IMA inhibits the activity of other kinases, but it has been shown that 3IMA reacts more readily with nucleophiles than with electrophiles.
