Description:
(1-Isopropyl-2-methylpropyl)amine is a primary amine that has intramolecular hydrogen and intermolecular hydrogen bonding. It is also an irreversible oxidant, which can be seen in its reaction with cyclopentadienyl magnesium. It is used as a chemical intermediate for the synthesis of other compounds with functional groups such as methyl ketones and amido groups. It also has been shown to have x-ray crystal structures that show its molecular ions, amines, and asymmetric synthesis.
